    DIW's Youth Leadership Development Program (YLPD) encourages well-rounded success by providing youth with a wide variety of learning opportunities and academic support, including after-school tutoring, cultural enrichment, and educational, recreational, environmental and artistic activities.     DIW has a number of programs for families that provide a variety of services such as case management, in-home parenting support, education, groups, and more. Programs include:

  • Domestic Violence & Anger Management

    DIW’s Domestic Violence & Anger Management programming provides services for victims of domestic violence and support groups for anger management. Programs include:

    -Victims of Domestic Violence Group
    -Women’s Anger Management Group
    -Men’s Anger Management & Domestic Violence Group
    -Domestic Abuse Service Center (DASC) Advocate

  • Elders

    DIW’s elders programming provides a variety of services for the elders in our community. Programs include:

    -Widow’s Group
    -Social, Food, & Transportation
    -Grandparents as Care Givers








  • Health Services

    DIW's Health Services operates a culturally specific food shelf, provides services for pregnant moms, works on teen pregnancy prevention, and provides traditional healthy foods for DIW’s program participants. Programs include:

    -Women of Traditional Birthing
    -Ninde Doulas
    -Nandagikenim Program
    -Live It!
    -Traditional Foods Program

  • Foster Care Based Services

    DIW provides services for youth in long-term foster care including education, assistance, and housing. Programs include:

    -STAY In The Community
    -Healing Spirit House







  • Referral Programs

    DIW works with Hennepin County, Ramsey County, and other agencies to connect with and recruit clients for some of our programming. Some programming does require participants to be referred to the programs first. Programs include:

    -Healing Spirit House
    -DASC
    -Anger Management Groups
    -Parenting Capacity
    -PSOP

  • Resources

    DIW provides a variety of physical resources year round, along with special giveaways throughout the year. Some of these resources include:

    -HU Food Shelf
